Expansion of the maxillary sinuses due to this phenomenon has a negative effect on the placement of implants in the posterior region of the upper jaw. In this case, to apply an implant to the posterior region of the upper jaw, the epithelial tissue covering the maxillary sinus floor, which has a hollow space, is elevated, and bone formation is achieved by placing a bone graft between the elevated epithelial tissue and the maxillary sinus floor.
